Sažetak
To evaluate the impact of reinforcement steel corrosion to the bearing capacity and serviceability of reinforced concrete structures, one should be acquainted with proportions of reinforcement steel corrosion detrimental effects. These effects can be steel diameter reducing, concrete cover cracking and spalling or bond degradation between steel and concrete. Corrosion effects on deterioration of structures are appearing and developing in the steel corrosion propagation period. Propagation period ending is also the end of the structure service life, that is the period while structure fulfils minimal requirements regarding bearing capacity and serviceability. In this paper the most important factor that influence the assessment of the residual service life of structure is presented and review of the existing approach is given.
