Sažetak
The enterprises work today in the unsure business environment that is characterised by the rushing and deep changes as well as the unsure and doubtful future. The progress in such environment can realize only those enterprises that are able to faster and more efficient adapt to the new circumstances at the market. The flexibility, the innovation and continual improving in business process are the key elements that become the component of the strategic approach of competitive advantage construction. The progress in the production, transport and communications is enabling globalisation and virtualisation in doing business. The competitors today know each other much better and their methods and technologies of production are increasingly becoming standardized. The idea of specialization on the core competences outsourcing all what the enterprise does not have the leading position on the market by co-extensive focusing on that part of doing business in which enterprise achieves the competitive advantage. This is the way of forming virtual organizational forms of enterprise (strategic alliances, partnerships, network and outsourcing connections, virtual teams and virtual enterprises) which in the contemporary business are becoming the dominant organizational forms of enterprises. The virtual organizations, substituting the traditional, the unique organizational forms are enabling the management of virtual enterprise the rationalization of costs and more efficient usage of the existing capacities by offering them the maximal flexibility in the answering to the market challenges. The essence of virtual organization is the division of unity of time, place and trade. The frequent change and geographic dispersion of its participants has been based on possibility of use of information and communication technology. Information technology is the key factor in the expansion of virtual organizations. It enables virtual organizations advantages in the coordination, transport and communication. The information network (Internet) helps widely dispersed companies to connect and work together. In this way, the organization of transport and delivery in virtual organizations is increasingly growing. Therefore the role of this paper is to point out the significant role of transportation in the new ways of organisation of production and to give some theoretical and practical models of providing it.
