Sažetak
The safest way to obtain the correct value of the fatigue life of the machine parts and structural components subjected to operational load is their testing at operational conditions. But, such tests are time-consuming and expensive, and not always feasible in design stage. This problem was surpassed by developing several methods enabling the fatigue life prediction on the basis of widely available constant amplitude test results. The most of this methods are based on Palmgren- Miner's linear cumulative damage hypothesis and were described in detael in a number of papers. But, this methods are time consuming too, and none of them gives explicite formula for fatigue life estimation of the parts subjected to operational load i.e. to variable amplitude stress spectrum on the basis of load parameters and material behavior. On the basis that a lot of stress spectra might be described by the Gaussian random process, new formula for the life estimation of the parts and structural elements subjected to acting of that stress spectrum is derived.
