Sažetak
Thermoluminescence dosimetry (TLD) is applied worldwide for personal and medical dosimetry. In this paper a brief summary of theoretical background and measurement procedure of TLD is presented. The main characteristics of various TLD systems (batch homogeneity, sensitivity, reproducibility, linearity, light sensitivity, fading and energy dependence) are described mostly from the viewpoint of use in personal and medical dosimetry. Some remarks about organisation and trends in personal dosimetry and some special medical dosimetry applications (in paediatric X-ray diagnostics and computerised thomography) of TLDs are also reviewed.
