Sažetak
In the last ten years there is a worldwide trend of rampant use of renewable sources of energy (wind energy in particular) in the generation of electricity. The first major project of this kind in Croatia is the construction of a small wind park in Ravno on the island of Pag. Since renewable sources of energy, especially the wind, are mainly of a stochastic nature, the question arises how power stations like wind parks can influence power quality having in mind that they are as a rule connected to small and relatively weak distribution networks. This paper gives a survey of power quality measurements made in accordance with the standard EN 50160 in the distribution network of the island of Pag before the wind park in Ravno had been connected. The DFIG (Doubly-fed induction generator) wind turbine system that will be installed on Pag is briefly described. In conclusion, some comments are given regarding the measurement results and possible effects of the wind park on the quality of electric power in the Pag distribution network.
