Sažetak
Genetic maps have been constructed for many crops, for mapping monogenic traits and dissecting polygenic traits and to provide a basis for marker assisted selection (MAS), which is a very useful breeding strategy in the creation of new varieties. The Slovenian Institute for Hop Research and Brewing (SIHRB) has performed conventional hop breeding, which has resulted in the release of eleven hop varieties since 1971, four of which occupy the majority of hop fields in Slovenia. In this paper we show the results of analysis of inheritance and linkage of molecular markers on the mapping family of 111 offspring of the F1 generation, characteristic of the variability of alpha acid content, and the results of AFLP segregation analysis identifying markers for damson hop-aphid resistance in hop. The main aim of the research is the development of linkage map(s) of hop, the identification of QTL involved in alpha acid synthesis, and the development of markers linked to aphid resistance which can be directly applied in marker assisted selection in hop breeding.
