Sažetak
On the two samples of university students (316 men and 332 women) the relationship of five-factor personality traits and religiosity with sociosexuality were examined. Hierarchical regression analyses were used separately on the sample of men and women. As criterion variables several indices of sociosexuality as well as overall score on Sociosexuality Orientation Inventory (SOI) were used, while as predictor variables in the first step of the analyses five-factor personality traits were included, in the second step religiosity, and in the third step interaction terms between personality and religiosity. Generally, the results obtained show that personality traits and religiosity better predict sociosexuality in women than in men. On the sample of men, higher sociosexuality was linked to higher extraversion and lower agreeableness. On the other hand, more complex results were obtained on the sample of women. Namely, higher sociosexuality was related to higher extraversion, lower agreeableness and lower conscientiousness. After controlling for personality traits, in the second step of the analysis religiosity proved to be a significant predictor of sociosexuality. Additionally, after personality traits and religiosity were controlled, in the third step of the analysis interactions between religiosity and extraversion and between religiosity and neuroticism were also significant predictors of sociosexuality. With the increase in extraversion sociosexuality of less religious women becomes higher than in more religious women, while with the increase in neuroticism sociosexuality of less religious women becomes higher, and in more religious lower.
