Sažetak
The paper deals with problem of controlling the pneumatic proportional valve with inherent nonlinearities i.e. with hysteresis and deadband during working condition. Valve hysteresis may vary with friction of its internal components, with environmental temperature, vibration and other factors. A deadband in the mechanisms of the valve, actuator and positioner adds to the hysteresis effect so making more difficulties to control system. Hysteresis and deadband increase control variance and the time the controller needs to make necessary corrections in the case of setpoint change or load disturbances. The analysis of PID controller parameters influence to pneumatic valve dynamic positioning will be done in closed loop control of heavy fuel oil viscosity. The simulation has been done within large marine two-stroke diesel engine fuel oil system of real VLCC ship using propulsion plant simulator Norcontrol PPS2000. The simulation and analysis results are presented in the paper.
