Sažetak
In the article analyses the manner in which the rhetoric of democarcy and exceptionalism has been coupled in American cultural discourse, the manner it has been promulgated and the consequences the joining of these two has had for the American polity. In the broadest terms, what the practice of coupling the terms amounts to is an ideological ploy which can prove to be a dangerous factor in the contemporary world.
