Sažetak
Normal human somatic cells have a limited division potencial when they grow in vitro. That happens due to the shortening of telomeres. immortal cell line MDA-MB-231 has an active telomerase, which stops telomere shortening and allows permanent division. In that cell line is documentated some percentage of cells that do not divide during a few days time of growth in culture. It can be concluded that the stop of division of some cells of immortal MDA-MB-231 cell line, like in the case of some other tumor cells, is a consequense of great genomic instability.
