Sažetak
The aim of the paper is to underline the differences when 2 and 3D approach is utilised for spur gear stress analysis. The analysis by means of FEM was carried out by varying the tooth facewidth to assure the proper evaluation of the effects of the gear actual three-dimensionality upon the state of the fillet stress. In order to embrace the influence of some other gear geometry parameters, gears of various number of the teeth, addendum modification factor and the rim thickness, were considered.
