Sažetak
The work is part of an international Research project carried by UNESCO Institute for Education (UIE) in Hamburg and the European Society for Research on the Education of Adults (ESREA). The SAEC (Slovene Adult Education Centre) was the coordinator of the project for the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. This work presents the situation of adult education and the situation of research on adult education in the Croatia. The authors of the work describes a main social, political and economical changes in the country in comparison with the period before the year 1989. In conclusion of this work it is pointed out the trends of development adult education and authors' opinions and proposals as to what should be done to change the situation if necessary.
