Sažetak
GPS positioning technology has been widely used in navigation systems. Using GPS, it is possible to obtain a close position fix on any moving object. In combination with other methods such as Dead-reckoning and correction methods such as Map-matching, and using detailed geographical maps, it is also possible to determine almost exact position of a vehicle moving along the road, together with its speed and direction. Besides that, speech synthesis technology has reached the high level of maturity allowing it to be used as a human-like interface for user friendly applications. This paper will give a shore overview of these technologies and possible use of positioning technology for developing a smart in-car sightseeing voice guide.
