Sažetak
Two application development case studies in the area of telerobotics/teleoperation have been presented. The implementation of the two case studies differs in the networking support for a developed multi-user distributed VE. The first case study uses DIS-Java-VRML approach, and the second case study uses HLA-Java-VRML. The specification follows the general framework proposed in Chapter 4. The virtual world objects have been defined and the functional and the interconnection models have been described in detail. It has demonstrated thet the models are applicable for both implementation approaches and that the general framework is not application or implementation specific. Finally, perfomance evulation results have been given, using as a reference the QoS characteristcs proposed in Chapter 5. Specifically, the perfomance of the Java implementation of DIS has been addressed, followed by user level QoS characteristics, and throughput and delay measurements in several multi-user scenarios. The measured commmunication level characteristics have been related to the user behavior and interaction in the VE.
