Sažetak
In the beginning of 21 Century Croatia have not the completely prepared regional politics. The need of regional approach to policy of development is expressed because of increasing economics and social discrepancies. It is expressed especially relating to necessity of Croatian regional politics adjustment to EU regional politics. New economic development approach which is directed to activities in sphere of endogen development policy occur as the result of strengthening of idea about needs for structural changes instead of insisting on quantity growth only. The globalization trend contributed to that process because it decreased importance of national boundaries and increased importance of regions which showed greater dynamics and flexibility to new global conditions.Croatian economic area is very various. The leading counties are located in north-west part of Croatia near Zagreb. The mentioned area, because of historic events, is over average populated. The nearness of Zagreb, Croatian politic and national centre favored to physical and institutional infrastructure what resulted in better preferences for entrepreneurial development. The most threatened counties are oriented to agricultural production. They lag over average in economic development. These are the depopulation areas which are characterized by the highest degree of unemployment rate and low entrepreneurial activities. Croatia late in institutional and other support to regional politics what will certainly effect on the time of adjustment to European integration process.
