Sažetak
Present work discusses study results of the constructions of the sitting furniture – office task chairs – in terms of comfort provided by their various upholsteries (PU foams, die-cast PU foam, pocketed micro springs and net). Prolonged sitting causes problems due to the pressure which the sitting bones exert upon the seat surface. With a hard seat the pressure underneath the sitting bones and the surrounding tissue is high and causes discomfort. Bigger contact surface provides more comfort and less tiring sitting along with better concentration on work. Our study was conducted on 36 subjects and 16 chairs divided in four groups. After two days of sitting on the chairs the subjects were asked to answer the questionnaire in order to score the level of comfort and discomfort.
