Sažetak
When Croatia gained her independence, the Zagreb airport became the country's main airport, the domicile airport for Croatia Airlines and airbase for Croatian Air Force. The new role requires expansion and modernisation. The Area plan of City of Zagreb includes the development of the Zagreb airport at the existing and expanded location. The Master plan includes the construction of a new passenger terminal and the accompanying facilities, buildings and areas (taxiways, aprons, parking lots, acces roads) and the long-term paln includes the construction of the second runway. The development plans also the implementation of the electronics-cmputing automation in the approach and landing, taxiing along taxiways and aprons, handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, cargo and mail, maintenance, safety, airport managing, etc. This paper presents the area planning of Zagreb airport development, expected traffic, necessary capacities and the expected implementation of the electronics-computing automation.
