Sažetak
Phase equilibria and crystal structure in selected RE-noble metal systems were investigated by means of x-ray powder diffraction and metallography. In all systems studied a large number of phases was encountered. Their structural relationship was discussed in terms of structural block stacking. The influence of substitution of nickel by aluminium on the hydrogen sorption properties of selected RENi_5 alloys was also studied. It was found that the hydrogen capacity and the equilibrium pressure decrease with the increased content of aluminium. The magnetic properties of the CePt_5_-_xAl_x and DyNi_5_-_xAl_x were studied. In the CePt_5_-_xAl_x system all single phase alloys are antiferromagnetic, and the susceptibility values follow the Curie-Weiss law with an effective magnetic moment of cerium close to that for the Ce3+ ion. In the DyNi_5_-_xAl_x system the single phase alloys exhibit a ferromagnetic ordering of Dy moments. At higher contents of aluminium a change from ferromagnetic into paramagnetic behavior related to the change of crystal structure was observed.
