Sažetak
This diploma thesis deals with instructions in foreign language teacher talk. The aim of the thesis is to highlight the strategies of giving instructions and to describe the alternatives in this type of teacher verbal behaviour. The practical part of the paper analyses a sample of instructions that were recorded in the E.F.L. classroom in an elementary school. The presence of the alternatives in teacher talk is discovered and discussed.
