Sažetak
Various methods are used for in the effort to make a geological model of a given area, and then determine the probability of discovering hydrocarbons in it. We have tested several methods here, with WHITE's (1993) proving to be the most successful. It was adjusted to the geological conditions of the Sava and Drava depressions' selected areas, and subsequently applied there.
In central parts of the Sava depression, there are some areas without sufficient well data, and so there exists the possibility of finding only minor hydrocarbon accumulations. Around a dozen oil and gas fields in the vicinity point to the possibility of their existence. The existence of Lower Miocene source rocks, along with a whole series of oil bearing rocks ranging from Upper Panon to Upper Pontian, have been established in the central part of the depression. Two units - IVA and Poljana sandstones - have been isolated in the wider Voloder area. In the Drava depression region, we have chosen the northern part of the Bjelovar sag, as a reference area. We have also analyzed the wider Galovac-Pavljani oil field surroundings. Based on the location of the reservoir there, being a promising unit, we have isolated sediments of the Mosti member lower part. Within them, probability has been estimated for the Šandrovac zone.
Taking into account the fields existing in the vicinity, as well as the degree of their exploration, they have been classified as partially well explored. Possible new fields and satellite reservoirs would most probably be in the order of magnitude of the ones already existing in the analyzed parts of the Sava and Drava depressions.
