Sažetak
In Croatia has existed, during the years, only the scientific direction of postgraduate study of Medical Physics, which produced the Master of Science degree in physics (Mr. Sc.). Now it was changed to doctor study where the candidates enter after the end of the regular five years diploma study of physics (Master of Physics degree, which is not Mr. Sc.), according to the Declaration of Bologna. The postgraduate Doctor study (three years) results in the Doctor of Science degree (Dr. Sc.). In addition to the above mentioned program in Medical Physics at the University of Zagreb which is composed along the traditional academic lines of the physicist profession the new curriculum has been developed complementing the basis physicist's knowledge with those practical aspects which are necessary for the successful inclusion of the physicist into the hospital reality. This is the Specialist study of Medical Physics (four years) based on EFOMP recommendations. The theoretical basis (the core-obligatory and the elective courses) is the same as in doctor study and additional, there are the fields of specialist in-the-job training (the first two years together with lectures and the other two years only the practical work). During this study the additional credit points follow from continuing professional development and education. The study results in the Specialist Medical Physicist degree.
