Sažetak
In this work the author examines the legal position of young offenders and related proceedings in the relevant judicial bodies in the Republic of Croatia and compares solutions of some the most important issues with the recomendations in existing international instruments. The author also determines the extent to which the Croatian juvenile criminal law, especially the Youth Courts Act (1997) is harmonised with standards from international UN documents such as the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Administration of Juvenile Justice (The Beijing Rules, 1985), the Convention on Rights of the Child (1989) and others.
