Sažetak
Throughout the passed war several areas of Croatia have been jeopardized with the formation of dangerous waste. In the frame of APOPSBAL project investigations of the contamination with PCBs of the ground of Western Slavonia has been carried out. Concentrations of PCBs are expressed in mg/kg (the ppm) of dry sample weight. In a few locations it was determined exceptionally high levels of total PCBs (Šagovina Mašićka - 1688 ppm ; Medari - 1784 ppm ; Gorice - 442 ppm). The most probable origin of these contaminations is closeness to the spots where has come to the oil leaking from damaged capacitors.
