Sažetak
Authors discuss theoretical and practical isues of Advanced Vehicle Tracking Systems (AVTS) used in Slovenia. AVTS has been designed to meet the needs and demands of private, commercial and fleet vehicle operators and government entities. Systems AVTS inside Intelligent Traffic System assures higher level of security, timing and coast control in transport process. using administrative process, maintenance savings, acquire information in real time. AVTS acts together with monitoring and communication systems. After short explanation of system possibility and capability authors present result of field research in Slovenian area. Authors expose comparative analysis of different AVTS accessible in our region. AVTS have to be considered and developed as a functional part of Intelligent Transport System where different applications can be harmonized.
