Sažetak
Different olive varieties are cultivated on the entire Istrian peninsula. With the aim of solving naming confusion, inventarization and identification of autochthonous olive varieties in Istrian County was performed. The investigation was carried out in the framework of the current long-term research project focused on preserving and valorization of indigenous olive varieties. Morphological description of 64 olive trees was performed during the last three years and data were used for cluster analysis. Samples were clustered in 6 potential variety groups with at least 14 different varieties. Further researches comprising morphological and genetic analyses will provide a deeper insight into biological resources so far not discovered.
