Sažetak
The goal of the study was to present have on functional abilities in women. It was determined that both programmes induced statistically significant, still varying changes in the cardiovascular system: in the yoga class routines the parasympathetic system was primarily affected in a way as to slowing heartbeat during the class, whereas the Pilates class, like other sports recreational programmes, influenced primarily the sympathetic system thus speeding-up heartbeat during the workout. Both programmes produce instantenous effects even after the first class. The effects are different: yoga encourages a perception in participants that they are relaxed and that their body is well stretched, whereas the Pilates programme, quite contrary, encourages energizing feeling of the power and energy reserves being refilled after the class. To conclude, we are dealing here with two compatible programmes as far as their functional effects are regarded. Despite the fact that the both consist of similar routines and structure, each deserves full attention of researchers and practiotioners of sports recreation alike.
