Sažetak
A new improvement of the generator design process is reached by including the optimization program into an integrated system for the generator design. In that way a designer controls the optimization process and the whole procedure speeds up. The optimization problem is solved by the linear programming method, using the revised dual simplex method. The costs of materials or the generator weight can be chosen as the goal function for the optimization procedure. The results of the optimization are 5 variants of the design in a table comparative printout. The paper describes an information system for the design of generators with salient poles and the optimization procedure within that system. The optimization comparative results of a 34 MVA generator are shown. The fourth design is selected for further processing. The generator is obtained with characteristics shown by no-load, short circuit and regulation curves.
