Sažetak
Background and purpose: The climate on a large part of the eastern Adriatic coast and islands is well known as climate of olive-trees. The aim in this studyr was to estimate the variations of development stages of olive-trees and to associate to climate variations on the three locations which cover the northern, middle and southern Croatian coast. Materials and methods: The phenological data of olive-trees (Olea europaea L.) has analysed for the stations Rab, Hvar and Dubrovnik during the period 1956– 2003 and it has compared with meteorological data of the mean annual and seasonal air termperature and the amount of precipitation. Statistical and linear trend analyses contain these phenological stages: the commencement of blooming (second stage), the full bloom (third stage), the commencement of ripening (fifth stage) and the harvest (sixth stage). Conclusion: During the last 48 years the trend analysis of these phenological stages has shown that the linear trends significant at the 0.05 level exist in the time series of Hvar for the two pheno-phases of blooming and rippening. The earlier occurrence of these stages is about 4 days/10 years. Significant trend of earlier occurrence of blooming in Rab have been also observed. Actually, increase in mean annual air temperature is observed in all the three locations in the 1956– 2003 period, which could cause early blooming of olive-trees. A statistical significant later commencement of ripening about 3 days/10 was observed for Dubrovnik.
