Sažetak
Galectin-3 has been proposed as tumor marker that could improve accuracy of preoperative diagnosis of thyroid lesions. In this study we wanted to find if the presence of macrophages and Hurtle cells in different types of benign thyroid lesions could provide an explanation for false positives by RT-PCR method.
