Sažetak
In 2001. year, by examination of 250 000 t of stored mercantile wheat in silos and by analysing 2942 wheat samples, 8 pest species were found: Cryptolestes ferrugineus Steph ; rhyzopertha dominica F., Tribolium castaneum Du Val., Sitophilus oryzae L., Oryzaephilus surinamensis L., Sitophilus granarius L., Plodia interpunctella Hbn. (larvae9, Liposcelis bostrichophila Bad. according to the seed damage observed secondary species were recorded at the rate of 60% wheat C. ferrugineus as the most abundant, followed by T. castaneum and O. surimanesis. Prymari species were represented with 39% of total entomofauna with R. dominica as the most abundant, followed by S. oryzae, S. granarius and P. interpunctella. Wheat humidity ranged betweeen 11-12% from mycofagous pests - L. bostrichophila was represented with 1%, particularly on wetter wheat (17%) attacked by fungi (Mucor spp., Cladosporium spp. Alternaria spp.) which served as the food source for this species. Our researches were carried out on 16 different sites in Croatia, on wheat samples weighing 250-500 g, and in silos with silo camber capacity of 400-800 t. from total number of harmful insect species determined on stored wheat C. ferrugineus was the most abundant with 42%.
