Sažetak
Hepatocytes in culture from various species including man have been shown to mimic liver functions in many respects. Cell culture system provide valuable in vitro approaches for screening of drugs, phytopharmaceuticals, plant extracts and other xenobiotics as well as for elucidation of possible mechanisms of action at molecular level. We may hope that hepatocytes in culture may considerably reduce animal testing.
