Sažetak
The Paper discusses important segments of agricultural sectors regarding harmonization with EU: (a) Common Agricultural Policy, (b) internal market and (c) structural measures - rural development. Regarding harmonization with the CAP, key issues are important: direct payments, maximum supported quantities, income support model, farm register and paying agency as basis for transparent allocation system Key weaknesses and opportunities have already been identified for our agriculture and agricultural legislation harmonization is implemented. Increasing the competitiveness of domestic agriculture and improving veterinary, plant protection and food safety standards are still issues while further arrangements in domestic institutional system in agriculture, according to the EU standards has to be done. CAP is changing constantly and will be changed in the future - reforms should be monitored and analyzed. We should use the experience of new member-states and avoid their mistakes, continue the reform towards rising competitiveness through structural measures and adapt agricultural policy towards maximization benefits from CAP, establish the efficient administrative system. The year 2003 reform is just a beginning of the integration process.
