Sažetak
Three periods may be distinguished in the history of the Jewish community in the Republic of Dubrovnik: the years prior to the government's decision to set up a ghetto in 1546, when there where not a lot of Jews in Dubrovnik ; the ghetto period until the turn of the eighteenth century, when the number of the Ragusan Jews was constantly growing ; the eighteenth century, when they were free to chose their living accommodations anywhere inside the City walls.
