Sažetak
A field experiment with three tillage systems was conducted from 2002 to 2004 in Lila, central Slavonia, Croatia to compare tillage effects on production of soybean [Glycine max. (L.) Merr.] and winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) on Gleyic Podzoluvisol. The tillage systems were: conventional tillage (CT), conservation tillage (RT) and no-tillage system (NT). The objective of this research was to determine the effect of tillage systems on the yield of crops and on energy and labour requirement. In the first season the greatest soybean yield of 3.07 t ha-1 achieved NT tillage system, while other systems achieved lower but not significantly different yields. In the second year the NT and CT systems achieved wheat yields of 6.79 t ha1 and 6.49 t ha1, respectively and difference to RT system were statistically significant at probability level p? 0.05. The CT system has proved to be the greatest fuel consumer with 57.46 L ha1 in soybean and 54.50 L ha1 in winter wheat production. Comparison of tillage systems with respect to energy requirement per tonne of produced grain results showed that RT system enabled saving of 31.8 % in soybean and 32.5 % wheat production. NT system saved even 90.2% energy in soybean and 90.4% energy in wheat production. The labour requirement per tonne of grain comparison showed that RT system saved 31.6% and 26.4% respectively, while NT system saved 88.2% and 88.1%, respectively. The economic analysis showed that the gross margin for RT and NT system in both crop productions was higher than for CT system.
