Sažetak
This paper is aimed mainly on problems related to metal-casting process and solidification and cooling of the casting. To meet previously mentioned demands foundries have to use most modern computer technologies for construction of casting, running casting simulation and solidification simulation for such a casting and finally, comparison of simulation results with the real casting. Modern software packages on one side give possibility to improve the casting technology and in the same time they also open new ways for development of casting designs in its beginning of planning a new casting.
