Sažetak
Aim.How pulmonary tuberculosis affects survival regarding medical geography gradient inland-coast in Croatia, during 27-years follow-up study in middle-aged population? Sample and methods. Prospective study data of the population of Croatia have been studied (age in 1982: 47-66 y). The sample was consisted of 1325 women and 1090 men(1-3) . In total during the 27 y. period 1983-2000/ after last examination 289 women and 380 meb died including 164 men and 155 women that in the past were treated for pulmonary tuberculosis with 3 or 4 antituberculous anibiotic during 9 months. Variance analysis and monovariate (Kaplan-Mayer) analysis due to SAS 6.12 were used. Results and conclusion.Among men regarding medically treated and healed pulmonary tuberculosis in the anamnesis signifcantly larger proportion was noticed in deceased men in comparison to women sample (p= 0.0184), within the examinees deceased during 27-year period after the last examination in 1982.Pulmonary tuberculosis (following prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the country) aditionally partially explain the difference in survival curve of coastal (Mediterranean-slightly curved) vs.inland midle-aged population (sharper) for both sexes, predominantly men.
