Sažetak
Groundwater are rechargeable in natural condition. How is this process intensive depend of the principal factors influencing on this charge. There are climatological, hydrological, hydro geological and biological factors. For the needs of study of a ground water regime, particularly in low-land agricultural regions afar from river, of special importance are vertical processes in the hydrologic cycle, since they are dominant. Concerning the total water balance, the vertical processes in the hydrologic cycle represent the most significant recharging element. It can be said that the major part of agricultural areas is mainly under the influence of vertical processes in the hydrologic cycle, i.e. that the ground water balance in these areas directly depends on precipitation, infiltration and evapotranspiration. The knowledge about the physics of these processes, as well as their monitoring, is of substantial importance for getting better knowledge about a groundwater regime. This is also a precondition for the protection and proper management of groundwater. The best knowledge of the restitution processes the groundwater can be obtained by monitoring and research work carried out on special measuring stations. For that purpose, from year 1988 continue was investigated vertical hydrologic processes on special infiltrometer station in Croatia. This paper explain the main methods and results research on the experimental station “ VARKOM” - Varaždin during ten years (1998 - 1998) investigate.
