Sažetak
The associations of the class Crithmo-Limonietea Br.-Bl. 1947 are developed in the zone of sea water spraying over coastal reefs, sloped and steep rocks and cliffs of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. In this class there is the order Crithmo-Limonietalia Molinier 1934 with the alliance Crithmo-Limonion Molinier 1934. Of this alliance along the Croatian littoral three associations can be differentiated - Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati H-i&aelig ; ; (1934) 1939, Limonietum anfracti Ilijanić and S. Hečimović 1982 and Crithmo-Limonietum vestiti Trinajstić (1981) 1989. The ranges of these association s are mutually exclusive geographically and ecologically. The ass. Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati is spread in the northern and central part of the Eastern Adriatic Littoral extending to the south as far as to the island of Korčula. The association is known from the islands of Rab, Veliki Brijun, Pag, Krk, Unije, Biševo and Kornati as well as from the Labin area. On the island of Murter and on the small Murter and Kornati islands, of the alliance Crithmo-Limonion the associaton Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati only is represented. Within this association on the said islands two subassociations are differentiated - Plantagini- Limonietum cancellati H-ić (1934) 1939 subas. limonietosum cancellati and Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati H-ić (1934) 1939 subas. schoenetosum Pavletić 1992. This association grows on the coastal reefs exposed to constant salinization. The association consists of a small number of species adapted to the extreme conditions of life. The vegetation research on the island of Murter and on the small Murter and Kornati islands showed that on them the ass. Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati is developed. This association comprises a small number of species, the dominant species in its floral composition being in the first place the species Limonium cancellatum and Plantago holosteum subsp. scopulorum. In the composition of ass. Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati subas. liminietosum cancellati, in addition to the characteristical species L. cancellatum and P. holosteum subsp. scopulorum predominant is the species Crithmum maritimum with the highest degree of presence. The species C. maritimum and P. holosteum subsp. scopulorum often dominate with their cover. The species Silene angustifolia subsp. reiseri, Lotus cytisoides and Sonchus glaucescens are much less frequent. In addition to these typical species which give the appearance to this association, an important role is played also by some accompanying species characterized by a high degree of constancy, the most important among them by their share being the species Elymus pycnanthus and Reichardia picroides. On the island of Murter and the small Murter islands the associations Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati subas. liminietosum cancellati and subas. schoenetosum bave been analyzed using 46 vegetation records, while on the Kornati islands, where the typical subassociation only is represented, the analysis bas been carried out using 22 records.
