Sažetak
We describe a convenient and reliable method for the separation of 17-alpha-hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP) from other plasma steroids: progesterone (P), pregnenolone (Pe), 20-alpha-hydroxyprogesterone (20-OHP), testosterone (T), estradiol 17-beta (E2) and cortisol (C). The chromatographic system, employing mini-columns of Sephadex LH-20, allows not only the quantitative separation of the 17-OHP fraction but is also suitable for multiple use, securing the required accuracy and precision of measurement of 17-OHP in small plasma samples.
