Sažetak
The interfaces of the future will be more closely adapted to the way humans naturally work and live. This attitude is supported by the development of adaptive communication between users and interactive systems. Adaptive systems, unlike traditional "one-size-fits-all" ones, can afford more personalized user interaction in a variety of contexts, including computer-based education. The paper elaborates on the design of personalized interaction in computer-based educational systems, particularly in intelligent tutoring systems, ITSs, systems that attempt to mimic the behaviour of a human tutor. The overall adaptation process in AKBB, an adaptive on-site ITS, and AW-BITS, an adaptive Web-based ITS, bases on HCI principles for usable systems and collecting of knowledge about the individual user, along with tracking of interaction history, the latter being dynamically acquired during run-time.
