Sažetak
Background and purpose: In its mid-stream, the Drava River is still rather fast, that resulted in a constant change of its river-bed and in the formation of a large number of river branches. Old dead river arms, distinguished by their plant life are Velika and Mala Čambina located nearby the Hungarian border in the part of Croatia across the Drava River to the east from the Repaš village. Material and methods: For making phytocenological records, the standard combined evaluation floristic method of the Zürich-Montpellier School has been used. Results and conclusion: The syntaxonomical review of the waterplant and the swamp vegetations of Velika and Mala Čambina is prepared chiefly on the syntaxonomy, such as made earlier by belongs to the class Lemnetea and Potamogetonetea, and the swamp one to the class Phragmiti-Magnocaricetea. The order Lemnetalia minoris is represented by three associations, the order Hydrocharidetalia by one association and the order Utricularietalia minoris by one association. The order Potamogetonetalia is represented by three associations and the order Phragmitetalia by five associations. In total, 13 waterplant and swamp vegetation associations have been analyzed. The waterplant and the swamp vegetations are built of a relatively small number of species. This fact can be seen even better from the analysis of the number of species on each plantsociological record.
