Sažetak
Based on the leaf morphology, by means of various statistic methods, the interpopulation and intrapopulation variability of pubescent oak (Quercus pubescens) was assessed. The samples from 10 populations from the whole area of distribution of the species in Croatia were analyzed. The populations, as well as the trees inside the populations differ significantly. Besides that, the intrapopulation variability is higher than the interpopulation one. The populations are differentiated into at least three groups according to the ecological conditions in which they occur (continental, submediterranean and submediterranean on higher altitudes). The populations are differentiated by traits which determined leaf size. The results obtained will enable a better conservation of the species genetic resources.
