Sažetak
This paper examines extant interpretations of the well-known anecdote about Heraclitus by the oven, some of which may have escaped the notice of scholars working in the analytic tradition. According to the interpretation elaborated in this paper, two different fireplaces are referred to in the anecdote. This claim is supported with evidence drawn from a variety of sources and disciplines. Thus interpreted, the anecdote becomes more plausible historically and better suited to the context of Aristotle's treatise than in previous interpretations.
