Sažetak
Lead concentrations in muscle, partially in liver and kidney of freshwater fish, as well as in water and pounds sediments, were investigated using the atomic absorption spectrophotometry method during the period 1980-1992. The fish species investigated were: omnivorous ( carp, teach, goldfish, bream, crucian carp, roach) ; carnivorous ( pike, sheat fish, cat fish, perch, pike perch, ruff, barbel, chub, chrup, burbot) ; herbivorous (grass carp, silver carp). The fishponds in wich fishes were sampled were: Crna Mlaka Okučani, Pakračka Poljana, Garešnica, Čazma, Draganić, Našice, Belje, Jelas polje, Končanica. The rivers in wich the fish were sampled were: the Sava, the Drava, the Kupa, the Črnec. Median lead concentrations in the muscle tissue of omnivorous and carnivorous fish from fishponds were 0.255 and 0.120 mcg/g respectively. Median lead concentrations in the muscle tissue of omnivorous and carnivorous fish in rivers were 0.130 and 0.125 mcg/g respectively. Omnivorous pond fishes were more contaminated by lead than were carnivorous fishes (P<0.05, for muscle tissue only), while in rivers lead contamination in these two groups were of the same magnitude. The concentration of lead in the muscle tissue of all fishes was below the maximum acceptable concentration.
