Sažetak
By analyzing the world market it has become apparent that the textile production is showing signs of stagnating in the industrialized countries. Nevertheless, some textile companies succeeded in surviving due to timely adaptation and reconstruction of the production and by introducing novel concepts such as "Just in Time" or "Quick Response". Starting points for such considerations are based on recognizing advantages of the textile production in the industrialized countries. Reorientation from mass production to the production of small batches causes difficulties because of high costs of development and preparation, bottlenecks in the production, slowed work, resulting in unprofitability. A more acceptable option would be investment in the development of the existing machinery, machinery modernization by integrating own innovations or automating devices that would replace manual work slowing down the production process. There is also a possibility of intent planning such a product in the production of which a certain stage can be left out because the reduction of production stages accelerates the process, e.g. weaving raw fabrics that will be piece dyed with different dyes if necessary. It is also necessary to make plans of workplaces. To enhance flexibility, it would be advantageous for workers to know how to operate machines in more workplaces and, if necessary, to perform more operations simultaneously.
