Sažetak
On the base of behavioural studies showing that imipramine and dihydroergosine (DHESN) stimulate the 5-HT syndrome in rats, but inhibit the head- twitch response in mice and rats, we have proposed that both, DHESN and imipramine stimulate 5-HT1 receptors, but simultaneously inhibit 5-HT2 receptors. By using antagonists of these receptors we have shown that both imipramine and dihydroergosine possess two components - one stimulating 5-HT1 and the other inhibiting 5-HT2 receptors.
