Sažetak
This paper presents the local exchanged heat flow rate and the lost of available work for the parallel and counter flow heat exchangers. The results are obtained numerically from the mathematical model in which the overall heat transfer coefficients have been calculated from the experimental data. The finite difference method has been used. For every case the local temperatures of the both streams, the local heat transfer rate and the lost of available work are calculated. The results of the calculations are presented in the diagrams. For the adequate comparison of these two types of heat exchanger the ratio between exchanged local heat transfer rate and lost of available work needs to be taken into account. In that way the second law of thermodynamics has been involved as additional criterion in the judgment of operation of heat exchangers.
