Sažetak
This paper presents comparison of two methods for the determination of Fe-55 activity of waste waters discharged from the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP). Research was conducted on twelve composite samples of waste water collected in the Waste Monitor Tank (WMT) during each month of year 2004, as well as on Analytics, Inc. cross check sample. Results showed that the complicated and time consuming LSC method proposed by the Environmental Measurements Laboratory (EML) could be successfully replaced with a simple and fast one based on the extraction of Fe-55 from waste water by non-specific chelating agent ammonium-pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (APDC) at pH 4, after separation from cobalt and manganese, and the activity measurement by X-ray spectroscopy (XRS).
