Sažetak
DNA and RNA de novo synthesis with implanted radioactive nucleotides (3H-thymidine in DNA and 3H-uridine in RNA) was studied in isolated ACTH-secreting pituitary adenoma (1) and tumors (4). The percentage of radioactivity found in DNA and RNA ranges between 4 and 22% under basal conditions. Cortisol tends to decrease the basal RNA synthesis (97% N=2 and 90% N03 ; basal=100%) while its effect on the DNA synthesis is distintly suppressive (62% N=5). 11-epi-cortisol supress the basal RNA synthesis (88% N=2) but it has a stimulating effect on DNA synthesis (118% N=2), so that no supression of DNA synthesis takes place when it is combined with cortisol.
