Sažetak
Polyaniline properties can be changed by substitution of hydrogen atom with an alkoxy group in ortho position. Such polymers were syntetised mostly to increase the solubility and thereby to increase the procesability of polymer. Thus, Brusic et al. obtained good results in corrosion protection of copper with chemically synthesised poly(ortho-etoxyaniline)(POEA). Since POEA showed good corrosion protection properties, the aim of this paper was to synthesise POEA electrochemically from phosphoric and sulphuric acid solutions that are advantageous for direct synthesis of polymer on a steel sample. Polymers were synthesised on Pt electrode. It was shown that the growing rate was faster in sulphuric acid solution compared to phosphoric acid solution. Current transients of polymer formation layer were recorded, and it was found that higher number of active sites is formed in phosphoric acid solution compared to sulphuric acid solution. Nucleation is followed by chain branching and that proces is faster in sulphuric acid solution.
